The Opportunity :
JNT Consulting is seeking a highly experienced and seasoned Director of Sales and Business Development, industry experienced in railroad industry, with high-energy, passionate, market and organizational revenue achiever, advocate of financial growth and profits. Our client is focused exclusively on highest quality, most reliable wireless systems and radio products to the railway / railroad industry.
Descriptive Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for the development and implementation of corporate sales plans in accordance with organizational strategies. Responsible in improving company’s market positioning, achieving organizational revenue goals, maximizing financial growth and profits. Leveraging key relationships with suppliers and customers.
Technical Requirements:
1. Experienced in all aspects of Sales management, activities, prospecting, cultivating and new accounts management
2. Solid experience in developing and maintaining railroad accounts for Class 1 (BNSF, UP, SCX, CS) and various transit authorities (MTA, Amtrak)
3. Solid experience in directing and managing business activities to ensure the plans are delivered in accordance with organizational strategies
4. Experienced in building high performing sales team, results driver and direct their focus to the most important areas for the selling of company’s products and solutions
5. Experienced in producing effective marketing communications and campaign
6. Experienced in managing relationships to negotiate and win favorable contracts
7. Experienced in supporting the outbound team by providing consultative sales methodologies
8. Experienced in driving and maximizing company’s revenue growth and profitability
9. Experienced in projecting risks, provide analysis and cost models
10. Experienced in managing, train and lead staff to support marketing efforts
11. Hands-on experiences in railroad wireless communication industry
12. Experienced in government contracts, RFP / RFQ processes
Candidate Qualifications & Competencies:
- 10 plus years of sales experience in railroad industry especially focused on partnership development and corporate sales development
- Demonstrable leadership and proven management competencies
- Excellent written, verbal communication skills, competencies in collaborative and team oriented environments
- Demonstrable high energy, ‘can do attitude’, flexibility, team work, attention to details, high degree of initiative, strategic thinker
- BS Degree and or equivalent prior experience
- Competencies of a Team Leader
- DOE (Depending On Experience)
